Every day I have to walk past two vending machines, numerous times… some days I can almost hear the cookies or chips calling out to me…. “ Moniqueeee come and buy me, eat me up, I am so yummy”… UGH.
I will admit when I first jumped on the healthy eating lifestyle wagon, it was SO hard. Dang near impossible to say no to the cupcakes and cookies and candies that were brought into the office, but over time, I found methods to be stronger minded with this. I mean, throwing away a lot of hard work for something that will cause more damage than good, is not worth it to me.
I had to learn the word NO, and even when I felt so bad (ex: someone brings in Christmas goodies their wife made) I would smile and say thank you, take it then give it to someone else. Will power is a great tool, and it is necessary when you are trying to achieve any goal. It is a lot like your muscles, the more you use it, the stronger it gets.
Whenever I feel like cracking and going ape on the Mac store’s candy section, I envision my goal, I see the end result that will only come from staying focused and on track.
Eye on the prize folks! ;)
